10+ Spring Sewing Projects for Everyone!
Spring sewing is some of the best kind. The sun is starting to shine outside more and the weather is warming up. With that comes making all the sewing projects that are full of sunshine and ready to explore the outdoors. I’ve teamed up with some sewing bloggers to bring you some wonderful spring sewing projects. There is a little bit of something for everyone. I hope you find something to make that brings you lots of sunshine and warmth, just like Spring does.
- Garden Knee Pad with Flowers – Kneeling in dirt while pulling weeds is the most uncomfortable part of garden, but if you have a knee pad, especially a really cute one like this, you are bound to start to like to pull weeds! I love the added flowers Havalah added. It doesn’t hurt to have extra cute gardening supplies.
2. Spring Mini Quilt – Mini quilts are the best because they are so much quicker than doing a whole quilt. Because they are smaller it’s fun to do more intricate designs too and really play around with new ideas. This mini quilt from Leslie is a great addition for any Spring or Easter table. If you have never made a quilt before this is a great place to start and practice.
3. Bunny Tote Bag – Who doesn’t need a cute tote bag for Easter egg hunts, getting new library books, or just for a fun bag to have? This bunny tote is so versatile and adorable, I can think of so many kids who would love to have this bag! This would be a great project for beginners to learn how to sew bags and practice sewing on the cute button eyes and nose.
4. Puffed Sleeve – Spring is one of my favorite times to make clothes. I always feel a sense of new beginning which brings a need for new clothes. I love simple clothes with a touch of uniqueness whether it’s in the style or in the fabric. I love how this puffed sleeve adds a little touch of fun and uniqueness to an outfit. It’s especially cute on this little girls shirt and I’m pretty sure I would want to do it on all little girl clothes if I could.
5. Round Zipper Pouch – Rainbows are another sign of spring to me so this round pouch just screams spring and happiness to me. I loved creating it and really felt so much joy in. The clam pouch is a quick and easy make for any seamstress. I love all the different sizes you can make with it and styles you can do. This rainbow added a little more intricacies to the process but it turned out so bright and fun.
6. Sewing with Bandanas – Bandanas are such a versatile piece of fabric. You really can make so many things with them and I love how they are perfect for anyone to work with. Marci created the cutest little hair ties and head bands with the bandanas and they look so adorable on her granddaughters. She also shows how you can make the perfect face masks with bandanas which are a great option. It gets a great fit and is a quick make.
7. Gardening Apron – Spring is the time to get all the gardening done which also reminds me a little of sewing. When sewing I feel like I’m always misplacing items and it’s the same with gardening. I’m always trying to figure out where I placed my gloves or where the shovel is. This gardening apron is perfect so that you never loose your tools again. It keeps you organized and I love how Vickey used an old pair or jeans to make this apron.
8. Spring Bunting – Making a bunting for every holiday is one of my favorite ways to add some fun decor to my house. This fun spring and Easter bunting is a simple and fun way to add the joys of spring into your home. Chelsea gives you all the instructions and steps you need to make this simple bunting. I love how simple she made this project that you could even do it just sitting in front of the TV.
9. Spring Hair Ties – Simple hair ties that add some joy to your days are the best kinds. It’s a simple and quick project that can really brighten someone’s day. These hair ties are a quick make that would be perfect for any beginner to make. They would also make a great item to put into Easter eggs or Easter baskets.
10. Gardening Knee Pad – A bright yellow knee pad would be a great addition to any gardening space. It just screams spring time and bright happy feelings that is perfect for a great day of gardening. This is another quick and easy project that any seamstress could make! Julie created this using waterproof fabric which would really help make gardening slightly cleaner and make it hold up so much better!
11. Twisted Turban Headband – I love that headbands are on trend right now. They are such a beautiful and fun creation that can be a quick project for you to make. I love the fabrics that Anne chose for these headbands which makes them look very high quality. The possibilities are endless for you to create something that will fit your style and bring some sunshine to your day.
