How to Make a Microwavable Heating Pad with Rice
Whenever I get a headache or tension behind my eyes I love to use a microwavable heating pad to put a little pressure and heat on. It’s also such a great gift to make for others! My favorite thing about this project is that it is completely customizable and can be made in any shape and size. I made one for my face but it’s also fun to make smaller ones to out in your pockets or gloves to keep your hands warm. When my kids get an owie or boo boo they like to out a small little round pad that we actually store in the freezer and it immediately helps them feel better. To see how I made this microwaveable heating pad with rice you can check out the video below.
Last year my mom made these microwavable heating pads with rice as little gifts for neighbors and friends. She included the sweetest little poem to go with it so I added it below in case you want to add it to your gifting.
This little pillow filled with rice
is such a comforting device
microwave for 2 to 3 minutes on high
and kiss those aches and pains goodbye.
apply it to a troubled spot
the heat will ease the pain a lot.
or warm those little toes, so cold.
you’ll find this nice to have and to hold
or freeze it for a while,
and fix that boo-boo in style.
instead of a compress made of ice,
Use this pillow filled with Rice.
Isn’t that such a sweet little poem? I hope you guys love these little heating pads. Make sure to get creative in your shapes and sizes. It can be so much fun!
ENJOY!
