Hey Friends! I hope you are all doing good and staying healthy. Today I’m so excited to be apart of Raspberry Creek Fabrics, My Favorite Things Blog Tour. It is always so fun to share my favorite things with you and I hope you find something that you can add to your favorites list as well. At the bottom of this post you can find links to all the other blogs involved in this tour so make sure to go check out their favorites as well. All this week the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Facebook page is doing giveaways with a bunch of our favorite things, and it doesn’t hurt that there is so much good inspiration on that page, so don’t miss out!

First up is this gorgeous knit fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. If you have been around for any amount of time you know I LOVE their selection of fabrics, especially their knits. They always have gorgeous club fabrics which are exclusive to their shop. For this top I chose a fun teal gingham that I thought would be perfect for summer and fall! It is a ponte de Roma knit which is a thicker knit which I love because I tend to always feel like I need an undershirt with thinner knits but this one is the perfect weight to just wear by itself. I can also already tell that it’s going to hold up so well to being worn a lot!

For the pattern I chose the Brenda from Made for Mermaids. I had only made this once before but it has to be part of my favorites list because every time I would wear that top I knew I HAD to make more (I also used RCF for that top as well!) This time around I knew I had to make multiple of this pattern so I made 5 different variations. I love that this pattern has so many options. You can have long, short, or no sleeves, buttons or no buttons, and different necklines. For this top I did my favorite style, the faux buttons up the front, a tie at the bottom front, and a v neck line. That sounds like the perfect summer shirt to me!

My favorite tools to help me make this shirt has to be my simplex sewing gauge, my oliso smart iron, and my seam gauge. Whenever I have to put buttons in an outfit I always use my simplex sewing gauge to space out my buttons, and button holes when needed. For the longest time buttons and button holes seemed overwhelming to me and I would always put them off until I had to do it. But with this tool, and a few other great tips, my procrastination of buttons and button holes has vanished. I never realized how much I could love an iron until getting the Oliso and using it so often while sewing. It makes every sewing project so much more professional and crisp looking. For my final favorite tool, the seam gauge, I am always reaching for this for pretty much every project I do. It is essentially to keep around, I have about 3-4 so when I miss place one another can usually be found quickly.
