Top 5 Swimsuit Patterns

More and more pattern companies are coming out with swimsuit patterns and I LOVE IT! Honestly it is poss I’ve to hack one swimsuit pattern into whatever you want but the takes time and patience and I would much rather have it done for me. Which is why I love buying patterns from smaller pattern companies, and it doesn’t hurt that I’m supporting these businesses which I also love to do.

Over the past month I have been finding the best patterns and made a list for you highlighting my top 5! Honestly I could have made this list sooo long but I wanted it to be short and sweet but I will probably add some bonus companies at the bottom.

  1. Megan Nielsen Pattern Shop — This week I have been sharing my version of the Cottesloe pattern from Megan Nielsen and if you can’t tell I LOVE IT. Not only is this pattern a super easy make but it is really fun to hack! I added the peplum on to this weeks version but I also made a regular bikini one and a one piece. They are all going to be my go to swimsuits this year. Another huge bonus is it comes in sizes 0-30! How amazing is that! The perfect swimsuit for EVERYONE!

Closet Case Patterns — I have sewn a few of the Closet Case Patterns and I LOVE them. They do such an amazing job making patterns that are very detailed and easy to understand. So although I have never made their swimsuits, I have to include them because I have heard many great things about their swimsuit patterns. I know their quality is amazing so I know this pattern is amazing!

Paper Cut Patterns — A few months ago I saw someone post a swimsuit they made and immediately fell in love with it. I had to have the pattern and make the swimsuit. Although I’m still finishing up the suit I know I already loooove it so much and will be making more of them. This pattern is so flattering for all body types! I can’t wait to show you more of it!

Made for Mermiads — This is another company that I have heard so many amazing things about, especially the swimsuit patterns, but I have not used them yet. After our Maker highlight from Cassie, I knew I had to include this company. She has a wide variety of swimsuits which I love! So many options!

Kwik Sew’s Swim & Action Wear — I have to include this book because it is how I learned to make swimsuits and I continue to use as reference. This book taught me that I can make anything with a basic pattern. I feel confident in making, hacking, and altering swimwear because of this book. I know it is very…80’s but it is a great reference for all things swimwear.

So there are my top 5 places to get swimsuit patterns. I have also seen great patterns through Joann and Peek-a-boo Pattern Shop. Where do you guys like to get swimsuit patterns? Let me know on my latest instagram post!
