How to Make a Pencil Pouch

I always tell myself that I am going to sew little bags to store all my things, but even though it is so simple, it never happens. But once I realized how close we are to Back to School season (around here school starts in TWO WEEKS) I knew that is was the perfect time to make alllll the bags/pencil pouches. I see those two words, bags and pouches, interchangeable so I will probably go back and forth between them in this post and in my videos.

Instead of just making one type of pencil bag I really went for it and have THREE to share with you! I made a whole series out of it this week. And honestly it has been so much fun! Instead of sewing something complicated and sometimes stressful these bags have been a relaxing and really enjoyable thing to make!

I am FINALLY starting to use all those amazing fabrics I LOVE and it has been so satisfying. I always horde my favorite fabrics and they just sit on my shelf looking pretty, but now I actually got to sew with them and will get to use them daily!

I love using all of these little bags to organize allll the things. The zipper pouches are going straight to the diaper bag to keep all of my stuff handy and all the tiny toys in one safe place and not lost at the bottom. The roll up pouch will help keep my makeup brushes clean and nice and the other one will organize our mess of crayons in the diaper bag. As for the boxy pencil bag.. there are so many things to use that for..makeup bag? toys? toiletries? nail polish? sewing supplies? SO MANY THINGS!

I love them all so much and have yet to claim a favorite. What is your favorite bag/pouch? If you make one I would love to see it! tag me on instagram or send me an email!

Happy Sewing Friends!
